The summer months are now behind us, and while we can still anticipate many weeks of too-hot weather yet to come, the promises of fall, cooler days and a steady diet of football arguments in the doctors' lounge always give a boost to our spirits at this time of year.
Without infringing too much onto the field of professional sportscasters, we feel that we can predict that the Bulldogs will have hot and cold Saturdays, that Auburn will be loaded with material and display its usual unimaginative offense, that Alabama will be a powerhouse with a soft schedule, that Tech and Dodd will be annoyingly simon-pure, outweighed, undermanned but bravely successful in spite of all handicaps, and that everyone will go to a bowl game.
Virginia, Vanderbilt and Tulane will look forward to better things again next year.
